How long do procedures take?

Depending on the procedure, it could take 15 minutes to one hour, but you may be in the office longer if observation is needed. 

How much does it cost?

Does an MRI, CT scan, or X-ray hurt?

No, they are painless.

Do I need an order from my doctor?

Yes, all exams require a referral from your doctor.

What if I have an implant?

Implants are safe for CT scans, but for MRIs, you will require a card prior to the scan. Pacemakers, defibrillators, and most neurostimulators cannot go into an MRI machine. Glucose monitors will need to be removed prior to an MRI.

Should I take my medications beforehand?

Yes, take your daily medications unless instructed otherwise.

Can I eat before my procedure?

For most MRI scans, you may eat normally. However, you must not eat for at least 4 hours prior to a scan if it involves oral and IV contrast. Water is always allowed.

Are MRIs, CTs, or X-Rays loud?

MRI scans can be loud, but you will be provided earbuds or headphones and can listen to the music of your choice. We do not offer these for CT scans.
